• The panther is a symbol of courage and power. It represents understanding and elimination of our fears of the darkness. This is why the Black Panther Party, in which Tupac was born into, chose this animal as their emblem. It symbolizes the strength and dignity of black people, an animal that never strikes back until he's back so far into the wall, he's got no other choice. The Black Panther Party was an African American revolutionary movement that fought against racism, police brutality and capitalism. Tupac was raised by the panthers and most of his family members were activists, so it makes sense that Pac’s thought provoking lyrics powerfully addressed complexities of Black-America and ongoing social issues. He was dynamic and influential, and resonated strongly with listeners who related to his truthful take on black culture. Tragically, art and reality became blurred with his murder, but his influence and legacy are proven by the resonance they maintain today.
